Cookies

What this website stores in your browser.

For this visit only

If you arrive through a link meant for banks or payment companies, some pages keep that one word, df_persona, in your browser’s session storage, to show the matching version of the page while you browse. It never leaves your browser and is deleted when you close the tab.

Microsoft Clarity analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used: which pages are opened, where visitors click and scroll, and where a page gets in their way. The content of forms, everything you type, the incident assistant and the incident number are masked in your browser and never reach Clarity. Clarity and Microsoft set these cookies:

  • _clck, on digifort.iq: keeps Clarity’s random visitor ID for this site, so that your visits are counted together. Expires after one year.
  • _clsk, on digifort.iq: joins the pages of one visit into a single recording. Expires after one day.
  • MUID, CLID, MR, SM and ANONCHK, on Microsoft’s domains (clarity.ms, bing.com): Microsoft’s own cookies. MUID identifies the browser across Microsoft services, and Microsoft states that it uses it for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes; the others keep that identifier in sync, and ANONCHK concerns passing MUID to ANID, a Microsoft advertising cookie. We use none of them for advertising. Microsoft sets their lifetimes: about 13 months for MUID, one year for CLID, seven days for MR, and the browser session or less for SM and ANONCHK.

For visits from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Clarity sets none of these cookies: we send it no consent signal, so it gives each page view a new random ID instead.

Turning analytics off

Choose Off and Clarity no longer loads in this browser, from the next page you open, and the Clarity cookies on this site are erased. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Clarity never loads, whatever this switch says.

Analytics in this browser

Nothing else

We set no advertising or social-media cookies of our own. The one exception is Microsoft’s MUID cookie, described above: Clarity brings it with it on Microsoft’s domains, and Microsoft uses it for advertising among other purposes. Apart from Microsoft Clarity, which loads from Microsoft’s servers, our fonts and scripts load from our own domain. There is no cookie banner: the site is written for visitors in Iraq, Clarity sets no cookies for visits from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and the switch above turns it off.

Clearing cookies

You can delete or block these cookies in your browser’s settings at any time. The site works the same without them; without df_lang, digifort.iq opens in Arabic.
